  1. Interesting idea Ange - what formative assessment processes will you put in place for this?

    1. For formative assessment I've got 2 lots of data from a reading climate survey I developed for the Leading Instructional Practice (LIP) course. My hypothesis was "Can explicit teaching of effort increase student enjoyment and confidence in reading (and possibly develop a growth mindset). It was due on 21/05 and I made it fit into our school goals around improved literacy. Between Feb and May I found that students understanding of growth mindset rose by 50%, with no corresponding increase in enjoyment/confidence, but they were more comfortable being honest in their responses. I think some of our kids aren't sure what it is to enjoy reading, so it may not have any effect on enjoyment or confidence, but I reckon there will def be an improvement in comprehension because learn2earn.org Whoos Reading asks for reading responses/comprehension exercises

Just tinkering with this mini-project as I would like to take the LIP work further along with my learning from LSDA.

    2. It would be so good if parents could be included somewhere somehow?

  2. Parent PL about class dojo is in Chris' ARP recommendations going forward, and L2Earn has the capability for us to invite parents to contribute. Parent feedback to me so far has been positive - I suppose a survey of them might be a good way to find out where to go next. :-)
